I think these signals can be caught with sigaction(2) or signal(2) on most
or all Unix-like systems, but I've never tried it. The parent process can
also tell if a child process was terminated because of a signal by looking
at the status returned by the wait(2) call see WIFSIGNALED and WTERMSIG on
the wait(2) man page.
