I was wondering if MPE/iX ever got LPR support.  If not, and based on Keven’s example, I am guessing it is using “port 9100” protocol as popularized by LaserJets, which basically replaces the serial or parallel port with a TCP connection to port 9100.  There’s not a lot of protocol, you just send text or PCL or PostScript down the socket and shutdown() and close() it when you’re done.
