And it does help. I've been using handheld data terminals to collect
data, which in turn is then uploaded to the 3000 host using an eavesdrop
decoder. Unfortunately, I could never seem to get the flow control
working properly and was, consequently, losing characters. I've kludged
for awhile, allowing the typeahead buffer to act as storage, while the
host system prompts caught up.
The first handheld programs uploaded small quantities of data...so no
problem with the TA buffer. Now, the handhelds are popular and the
upload requirements have grown big-time. Guess I'm gonna have to figure
out the flow control after all.
I was kinda hoping I could boost the TA to some huge amount. Yes, yet
another kludge <but it seemed easy!>. I've got a load of dumb terminals,
so Reflection is out of the question.
Once I get the flow control working, this will all be moot.
Unfortunately, I am not a techie....and everything *seems* to be set
properly.
Thanks for the info!
