probably because of a defect in the MPE/iX OS code.

Which OS version are you testing your AIF program on ?

There was a defect fixed for AIFSCPUT item 3058 in 5.5,
6.0 and 6.5 with patch ID MPEKX92 . Do you have that
installed ?
