We arrived in Alaska on the day that Sarah Palin resigned and drove through
Wasilla on the 4th while she was there. A lot of wild fires and not a drop
of rain our entire trip. Loved it.

While in Seward, a Park Ranger told us how to use our hand to remember the
different kinds of salmon:

Thumb rhymes with Chum
Pinky for pink
Middle (big) finger for King
Ring finger for silver (as some rings are silver)
And the index finger for Sock-Eye because if you poked someone in the eye it
would look the same...

It was an incredible trip. We were there 18 years ago for our honeymoon and
it still rocks.
