Okay, I finally got around to starting up Telnet on my system (thanks, Wirt
for being the impetus, and thanks to all who wrote such great posts in the
past, and thanks to whoever maintains those excellent archives). Anyway, my
question is this:

Am I incurring any performance penalty by having the default SERVICES,
PROTOCOL, and INETDCNF files? What kind of tuning can I do to these files
if all I want is inbound telnet access?

Thanks,

Jim Phillips Manager of Information Systems
