I'm running MPE/iX 6.0 pp2+ on a 957 (not racked, but what diff?).
Generally we're spoiled with 'safe' line power - automatic failover to a
gigantic generator-driven UPS. But when a failover happens (usually
evidenced by the ceiling lights barely flickering one time), I usually see a
console message saying "** RECOVERY FROM POWER FAIL **" or very similar.
According to BobBerliner's 2/19/2002 UPSUTIL paper on Jazz, that message
comes from the UPS Monitor/iX subsystem, but I'm not aware of either the
subsystem OR any UPS that might have ever been present.

The 957 was part of the last product line to have its memory supported
with a battery backup. I believe the message you're seeing is a result
of the subsystem used with the memory battery backup.
