One very important item (which I overlooked in my frist message, hence the
correction !) is the support of HP-IB. 9x8s and 997s all support HP-IB (9x9s
do not). This mandates an HP-IB capable MPE release until EOS date for these
boxes, i.e february 2006. That means 6.5 has to remain supported until that
date, since 7.0 has no HP-IB drivers.
