Hello all,
While I have every sympathy for everyone who has lost family, loved
ones and friends as a result of this appalling atrocity, my heart
quails when I read all the warmongering, revengeful, killing rhetoric
expressed on this list. Thank God for a few voices of sanity, namely
Bruce Toback and Steve Dirickson who attempt to apply some perspective
to the hysterical reactions expressed by several people. Is this
really the best reaction from a mainly Christian society? Yes, it was
a horrific attack perpertrated at the heart of America but does anyone
ever stop to ask WHY? Surely this "revenge" will serve to merely
perpetuate the problem. You kill their families, they kill yours and
so on. How can it ever be stopped? Surely it is not weakness to show
restraint? Violence breeds violence. We need LESS killing in the
world, not more.
Just my $.02.
Cheers,
John Dunlop
