Below is the job description for Senior Programmer Analyst at the
Center For Information Services, Bellevue, Washington.

The Center for Information Services (CIS) provides information technology
services to the Washington Community and Technical Colleges.

This is a great company to work for. The work environment and user

We are in the middle of a 7 year project to convert from HP3000 to .NET.
Our project vendors are HP and Microsoft. This position will support the
current HP3000 platform while learning the new environment.

Summary:  Works as a senior programming analyst to provide problem-solving
support to computer users by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.

Solves, or assists Financial Management (FMS) and Payroll Personnel
Management (PPMS) Customer Services representatives in solving software,
hardware, and procedure problems working with legacy applications written
in COBOL and Transact for the HP3000 environment.

Researches customer support problems and suggests solutions to problems
found in legacy applications.

Analyzes specific requests from outside agencies or colleges for reporting
needs or data interfacing needs and prepares completed methods for
delivering such requests.

Analyzes FMS/PPMS Customer Services activity and makes recommendations for
change in Customer Services support procedures and systems to upper
management.

Confers with staff, computer users, supervisors, and managers to determine
requirements for new or modified software and hardware.

Writes recommendations for management review.

Coordinates installation of software, and implementation of procedure
changes.

Acts as advisor and/or developer of software as required and as time
permits for the Development Services Division.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience in the use of mature
and contemporary software programming languages applied in a business
setting supporting large financial legacy applications.

Desirable Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience in the use of COBOL,
Transact and contemporary software programming languages, HP3000 operating
systems, fund accounting with emphasis in state government financial
accounting and payroll accounting with emphasis in state government
payroll accounting.

Desirable Computer Skills:
Software Languages include: COBOL, Transact, C, C#, and VBScript, HP3000
and, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and .NET environments.
Image and MS SQL database experience. Skill with accounting software that
includes General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable
and Fixed Assets again is highly desirable.
