Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody has any clever ideas on how to embed
version information into Cobol object code, or more specifically,
more than 255 bytes worth.

For some strange reason, 255 bytes is all that COBOL on MPE/iX
allows via the $VERSION directive per compilation,
whereas, smart compilers like SPLash! allow as many $VERSION
statements as you like.

The sort of information I want to embed is source file name, last-mod-date,
no-of-lines of source code, a check-sum etc, for each source file in the
compilation (eg., copylib members and $include files as well as the main
source)

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,
Tad.
