Rob,

Even though we manufacture a competing solution for forms/data integration, I
always enjoy listening to someone who exhibits true enthusiasm for their
product and their design solution. It would be hard to imagine anything more
on-topic for this list. Good, well-designed, well-thought-out, easy-to-use
solutions help us all as a community -- and it is important to know how they
work and what the alternatives are.

I, for one, would actually encourage more of these sorts of brief
presentations on the list concerning reasons why certain design paths were
taken in the construction of various products for the HP3000. No one ever
gives as much thought to the consequences of the design alternatives -- or
has as much on the line -- as someone who has built a quality product. His or
her comments are no longer merely opinion. They are the results of pragmatic
experience, and as such, intrinsically have a great deal of intellectual
merit to them.
