Actually it would be Allah-hu-al-Akbar.
But the spoken is oftentimes different and may get dropped.
It is like dropping the 'g' in English gerunds. The "hu",
(actually "hw") runs together with the "al". So sometimes
you'll hear the "hu" but not the "al", if you hear the "hu"
portion at all.
