Last week, former president Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace prize
at which time some members of the Nobel committee took to opportunity to
take a swipe at the Bush administration for basically not following in the
appeasement footsteps of Carter and standing up to tyrants and madmen.

A few years ago, ex-president Carter recounted how in 1994 he had
"intervened", uninvited, to prevent the UN from imposing sanctions on North
Korea in order to stop the latter's nuclear weapons research program.

The White House revealed earlier this week that the North Koreans had
advised them they had continued their nuclear weapons program in secret and
in defiance of the agreement brokered by former President Jimmy Carter in
July of 1994 and it is now believed they have nuclear weapons.
