Who else on this list remembers (and/or participated in) Ed Sharp's old
HP3000-based BBS system?

Having founded and run (for a while) an email list of my own (AUSSIE-L, for
owners/lovers of Australian Shepherds), I don't believe the above. I was
handicapped by building my list on an ISP (and having to add/delete users
manually for many months), but even if you control the server there are still
no end to the new ways problems can develop.

I ran my list as a benevolent dictatorship, and the politics still threatened
to destroy it more than once. Of course, people who breed/show/train dogs are
little off plumb anyway -- but then, so are we!

Good work, Jeff; you know we appreciate it, but I bet it's nice to hear every
once in a while!
