We haven't even begun. But we have a completely home grown application that is going to be horrible to migrate. The minimum costs estimates are about $4 million for a partial migration. A complete rewrite has a price tag of about $30 million. Neither is in our budget. We are still looking at options, one of which is just staying on the 3000. One problem we face though is proximity of 3rd party hardware vendors in close enough proximity to the Kansas City area. So far the closest one I've found is in Des Moines, Iowa, 3-4 hours north of us.

Nope, my gut feeling is that most customers (except for the
larger ones) haven't really even begun. Maybe they're in denial
or maybe they're hoping OpenMPE provides them refuge, but in
either case outside of idle talk no firm plans have been made.
The one thing that *has* happened is that projects have been
put on hold unless they were far along or deemed critical and
can't wait. This probably is a combination of the economic
downturn as well as the 3000's EOL announcement, but unless
things turn around soon I may be asking people if they want
fries with their shake! :(
