Sorry I didn't give the complete the picture.
We can ping all the devices, and reach them via a web browser without any
problems. No changes have been made to configs, or switches, or....to the
best of my knowledge. We can print to the nearest unit from windows via tcp
port.

The first thing I always do in such cases is the obvious and test whether or
not the printers are properly responding, first by pinging them and secondly
with a telnet inquiry. All JetDirect-connected HP printers respond to
telnet.
Here's the response from one of our HP Color printers:
