Ok, I know it's Friday afternoon, but here's a real zinger of a problem
that I've come across.
One of our systems (in the field) received the following error message this
morning.
Bad SYSTEM LOGICAL Sector number 0xBBC0 on LDEV 1 (io_status=FFDD0071)
Filename of Bad File= $XM SYSTEM LOG
System Abort 650 from subsystem 143
blah,blah,blah...
After the dump...
WARNING A DEFECTIVE SECTOR HAS BEEN DETECTED
blah,blah,blah...
HP claims that this is not really a file but more like some kind of storage
area (temporary???) and that there is nothing that we can do except replace
ldev 1 and install.
I am going to follow the new drive, install from SLT,restore data route but
would like to know if there is anything that we could have done (in the
unlikely event that this EXACT problem should happen again ;->).
Have a great weekend (I know I will)
