With regard to platform vs platform, o/s vs o/s, etc,etc "discussions", I don't
think that this is the correct forum. These should be done as
private emails or whatever. I object to having such rubbish clutter
up my in-tray. I know that I am able to use the delete button, but I
already have to wade through & discard too much mail. Also, for
those receiving this in digest form (which I do sometimes), you can't
delete stuff you don't want to read.
PC's, Macs, Amigas, HP3000s, supercomputers, IBM mainframes, Unix
boxes, etc, and the myriad of operating systems all have their good
points, bad points, specialties & ardent devotees. It doesn't matter
what tool you use, provided that it will do the job at hand.
Regardless of the above, could we exercise some degree of
intelligence & restraint in keeping to the topic of HP3000 & related
stuff? I'm sure that Jeff has enough to do already without having
to unnecessarily censure this list.
