I heard this on NPR. It supposed to be true. An archeologist translated a
cuneiform tablet from Sumer. The tablet had the following inscription:
Father: Where were you?
Son: Out.
Father: What did you do?
Son: Nothing.
Father: Then what took you so long?

I find this remarkable in that it shows (1) that the ancients had humor (2)
Humor hasn't changed that much (3) Kids haven't changed that much (4)
Parents haven't changed that much (5) the relationship between parent and
child hasn't changed at all.
