Quest Software provides several great methods for moving files between 2
HP3000's.

Quark+ & DSCOPY - A compression archive product
http://www.quest.com/high_availability/quark.asp; used with DSCOPY from
NS/3000
Quark+ & NBCOPY - The same compression product used without NS/3000
http://www.quest.com/high_availability/nb_copy.asp
NetBase Shadowing - real-time file replication
http://www.quest.com/high_availability/netbase_shadowing.asp
NetBase NFA - clustering of local HP3000 servers to look like a single
server http://www.quest.com/high_availability/netbase_nfa.asp

To access files between HP3000 and HPUX, SQL Server, Eloquence, etc...
Define a common gateway to open systems environments that are flexible
and easy to use, allowing heterogeneous platforms and RDBMS or file
structures to work together with seamless efficiency.

BridgeWare http://www.quest.com/middleware/bridgeware.asp
SharePlex Bridge http://www.quest.com/middleware/shareplex_bridge.asp
NetBase Client http://www.quest.com/middleware/netbase_client.asp
NFS/iX http://www.quest.com/middleware/nfs_ix.asp

Subject: FTP between our 2 HP3000s failing intermittently

We have several background jobs that transfer files between our two
HP3000s.

After several years of successful operation, they have started to report
"network" errors on a very infrequent basis. It appears that the FTP
transfer (put) has been successful, but the FTP server is very
occasionally returning error #45 (file accessed exclusively) back to the
FTP client.

Any suggestions ? I've checked the obvious (we're only running one copy
of the FTP transfer job).
