Hi all,

I have a friend that knows nothing about COBOL (or any other
language for that matter). He asked if I thought a contract COBOL type
person would be able to work with Ecometry's code if he bought the
software (so he could homestead for awhile). I told him that I've never
worked with Ecometry, so I just don't know that answer, but I though I'd
pop the question to the list.

Of those that have worked with the COBOL code to Ecometry, and on a
scale of 1 being pure crap and 10 being the greatest and easiest code
you've ever tried to work with:

a). Was the code well documented?

b). Is the code easy to maintain/change?

c). Is the screen handler well documented and easy to work with?

d). Where there copylibs, and if yes, are they setup well and easy to
traverse?

e). Is the code mostly COBOL, or is it heavily laden with hp intrinsics
(other than DB calls)?

f). Would someone who's well versed in COBOL. But not the hp be able to
work with the code (assuming they learn IMAGE)?

Any other answers/insights you have would be much appreciated, too.

Please do answer off line, and know that any/all replies will be read,
then promptly deleted in confidence.

TIA, and have a great weekend.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty and
well preserved body, but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming:

-- WOW!!! What a Ride
