Of course MPE is a cult!

The difference between the MPE cult and others (Hale-Bopp, Heaven's
Gate, Moonies, Waco Texans, and that crowd that poisoned themselves in
the jungle and started it all) is that we haven't yet been disillusioned
and driven to despair by false promises, lies and dreadful realisations
of deception.
