From the article,

"Despite previously stated efforts to reduce its work force, HP added
4,000 employees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31 for a total
of 150,000 worldwide, chairman and chief executive Carly Fiorina said
last week when HP announced results for the quarter and full year."
 
Those 4,000 new hires were worldwide?  When is India considered
worldwide?

Maybe the added 1 or 2 in Singapore or elsewhere so they could say
"worldwide".

    Several weeks ago someone posted that HP was intending to lay a
"few"
people off after the election and it looks like its about to happen. I
would hate to be one of those designated to be in the mandatory bottom
category "1" which if I remember correctly means you are about to be
canned. Talk about grading on the curve....
