Only if you've already built the new account, and all of the groups and
users, and got all the capabilities, etc. correct. To do this, you can
either run BULDACCT.PUB.SYS;INFO="OLDACCT" and edit the resulting job,
or use %VEAUDIT COPYACCT OLDACCT,NEWACCT (check the syntax), if you own
VEAUDIT.
Frankly, a STORE followed by a RESTORE;ACCOUNT=newacct is probably
faster and easier (but you *still* need to do BULDACCT).
Interesting side note: STORE has a RENAME option which I never noticed
until Stan mentioned it to me last year. We now use it to make our
tapes. The files are STOREd from the PRODTAPE account (for example),
but on the tape they are in the LPS account! No wildcards, so we use
and indirect store file with a ;RENAME= on each line.
If the goal was to avoid walking back to the computer room to eject the
tape and put it back online, pick up a free copy of Stan's "ONLINE"
program at "http://www.allegro.com".
Final note: why the *bleep* do I always put "http://" in URLs when I
post them (and in my .sig file)? I use Pegasus to read email, and if
there is a string starting with "http:" it's highlighted (in blue) and I
can double-click on it to launch Netscape, pointing at that page! This
works in Netscape's otherwise crummy newsreader, also.
