Wirt,

Surely all Wirt was doing was proving that a particular Republican
talking point was a pack of lies?
And that noone else had bothered to disprove it? Twisting his words
isn't the done thing, either. All he was saying was that she is NOT
privy to all this security info and has no operational responsibility
for that base. Contrary to what was cut-and-pasted.

(I think that noone is pre-qualified for these Presidential posts.
Cometh the hour, cometh the person. Or not, noone can tell in advance)

I can't remember my stats and info on Normal distributions but your
conclusion is by no means obvious from your data here. If your data is
accurate. And there are plenty of eeevul libruls in small towns, and
plenty of raw-red-meat armed individualists in cities.

"march back towards socialism" perhaps. It seems to me that the US has
been more collectivist at some points in the past than it is now. Not
necessarily in economic terms, but maybe even there.

going to be a rough ride.

Indubitably. I thought when McCain was picked that the Repubs had
decided to lose this election in order to be able to blame the Dems for
the inevitable continuing difficulties. But maybe not.
And hell, hard times for the US look like easy times to a lot of the
rest of us. You retain
a host of physical and social assets that mitigate against all sorts of
possible breakdown. Look on the bright side; no matter who gets in, your
guys will be out of the war shortly. And this will be a real plus.
