David,

I'm not sure if anyone has responded yet, but a couple things
to check out would be:

1. Do you have a "protocol =" parameter set in the [global] section?
Some of the earlier (lower numbered) protocols will not properly
support long filenames, and need the name mangling options
to work correctly (in some cases, I don't think you could get it
working correctly with WIN95 or NT unless the protocol is at
least 4 or 5). If it's not set, then set your debug level = 5 and
see what protocol is being negotiated.

2. Do you have any name mangling parameters set? I've gone
back to using the defaults after playing with them for a while.
Unless you need to maintain short (8.3 style) filenames, the
defaults seem to work well with WIN95 and NT 4.0. Again
set your debug level up and check what goes on when you
issue a 'ls -l' against the directory which contains the hfs
     directories.

3. Connect up using smbclient and see if they show there. (BTW,
I've been able to use smbclient fine from the console, but I do
run into a problem when I use it from a VT connection. I'm
assuming I'm running into the problem Lars describes in the README
file with it not handling both keyboard and socket input together
     correctly).

Let us know what you find out.

Regards,
Michael L Gueterman
