Due to popular demand, I decided to post this to the list..... As
requested, here is the configuration for a modem connected to a DTC and
used to page a alpha-numeric pager.
1) In NMMGR, configure the port as follows -
PATH: DTS.PROFILE.PAGER
Terminal type [10]
Line speed [9600 ]
Record width [80 ]
Modem type [0]
Modem behavior [0]
Data length/Parity [NONE]
Speed/Parity Sensing? [N]
Allow :HELLO logon? [N]
Reset HP terminal? [N]
NLIO device? [N]
Hardware handshaking [N]
2) Set the port to refuse sessions....Add this to the SYSSTART file
:REFUSE ldev#
3) Configure the modem using the AT command
&F Set defaults
&C0 Force DCD
&D0 Ignore DTR
&S0 Force DSR
E0 Don't echo
Q1 Suppress result codes
&W Keep settings
4) Connect modem to DTC using the following pin-outs 2-3 3-2 7-7
5) Issue file equate FILE PAGER;DEV=xxx
6) ECHO ATDT<pager number>,,,,,,,,,,<status code># >*PAGER
I had to create the above steps from note scraps so please let me know
if this works or not... I can adjust if neccessary.
Have a great day!
