I think Edwards has a good chance at professional comedy.

1. He announced his candidacy on "The Daily Show", a comedy cable-TV show.

2. His appearance in the back room of the "The Tonight Show" in the guise
of one of Jay Leno's anti-Bush joke writers was priceless.

My guess he'll kick off his career with a new cameo appearance on "Saturday
Night Live" and possibly a duet with Al Franken.

John Edwards retired from the Senate representing NC. He was a one-term
senator facing an impossible reelection. Remember that Kerry lost NC
when he nominated John Edwards as his VP pick. The seat Edwards vacated
in NC was won last night by Republican Burr. Edwards is no longer in
government.

Kerry did NOT resign his seat when he ran for president. He just didn't
show up for the last year or so in the Senate, except to cast a few
leftist votes.

He should have no problems winning reelection to the Senate in MA.

There will not be a match-up in the Democrat primary between Kerry and
Billary. Kerry will not run for prez again and Billary may lose her
senate seat to Giuliani in 2006. If she loses that one, she is toast in
the Democratic pantheon.

But for now, let's just enjoy a wonderful election.

Hi Jay :)
I have to agree, I don't like Kerry, I am glad that the elections
turned out the way they did ... But I feel that Kerry did show that he
values the country (and his party) and wants what is best for both!

I was impressed that Kerry conceded when the math said to. He did
not
concede to early when the math said it is possible (that would have made
him a quitter, IMNSHO) but did only when the numbers said it was time.
This shows that he is doing what is right... fight as long as it is
winable... then do what is best for the country. We didn't need and
neither did the economy or the world another wait till Christmas to know
who will be President come 20 January or so...

Anyone heard if this changes Edwards plans for seeking reelection to
the Senate? What will this do to Kerry's re-election plans?

Sorry, Brice, but I can't agree. My opinion of him went up because he
saw
he
wasn't going to win, and rather than draw it out, he conceded - perhaps
not
as gracefully as we would have liked, but a damned long ways better than
we
were expecting.

We need healing after this campaign season, and Kerry's concession may
well
be the spark we need.
