There is no imagination when a COBOL/iX compile on a 922LX with 56MB of memory
running MPE/iX 4.0 takes 5 mins and the same compile on a 922LX with 40MB of
memory running MPE/iX 5.0 takes 21 mins. This same compile on a 920 with 24MB of
memory running MPE/iX 4.0 took 22 mins. On a 917 with 32MB of memory running
MPE/iX 4.0 this COBOL compile takes 3 mins.

Upgrading to MPE/iX 5.0 is not an option based on these performance evaluations.
Whether MPE/iX 5.5 will address this important issue remains to be seen but we
are not holding our breath on this one.
