Not reliably. :-(

Unfortunately, MACS jobs are streamed programmatically, by a substantial
number of programs. These programs are typically invoked from one of (a maze
of tiny) command files (all alike), with each !RUN line explicitly
specifying a LIB= parameter and/or XL=(list of XLs).

While VESoft has a program patcher, it's not usually advisable to try
patching ALL those program files (especially with the regularity of patches
we get from SG/Ecometry which would negate them), and the prospect of
modifying all the hundreds of !RUN lines in those command files to add
VESoft's XL (and redoing it every time you get an update) is also not
practical.

You might get it all done ONCE, but trying to maintain it would be a
nightmare.

Also, the programs that stream these jobs don't accommodate prompting (i.e.
they would need to disable the pseudo-block mode interface temporarily). And
if you missed a program or command file somewhere, from what I recall, most
of their code doesn't check for successful execution of the STREAM command
(or would likely hang as they try blindly to read the job number returned).

Some simple (but they would have to be comprehensive) code changes on
SG/Ecometry's part could fix those issues... but don't hold your breath.
It'd be a LOT of work for them at this point.

Can I use VESOFT's STREAMX to submit jobs streams, within
Smith&Gardner's MACS system. If I can, how do I set this
up.

                Later and Thanks
