We had these exact symptoms about 2 years ago on several DTC attached 2934
printers.  As an additional oddity in our scenario, we found that the
spoolfile could be altered to another printer in a deferred state, then
altered back to the origional printer where it would complete.
Our answer from HP was a patch to DTC Manager version 14.1.  The patch was
14.10.I.  You might want to check this DTC to see if it has the same
ROM/firmware versions as the others.
