I have got a problem.
We recently upgrade to an HP 969/KS system. In the process of doing
the upgrade we lost the ability to use our HP2567 printers due to
their HP-IB interface.
We replaced the HP2567 printers with HP's LPQ1200's. The printers are
working fairly nice; but, I am having a problem with ribbon life.
The ribbons for the LPQ1200 simply do not last. Whether I use GENUINE
HP ribbons or high quality generics (OCR or Standard inking) I am
lucky to get two boxes of moderate print characters out of them.
Font emulation is set to PCL-II (8 l.p.i.). Personally I feel that if
we were not using PCL-II that we would not be getting two boxes of
print per ribbon. PCL-II is such a crisp and clear font that it
allows for legible characters even toward the end of the ribbons life.
Question #01:Is anyone else using LPQ style printers?
Question #02:Is anyone having problems with their ribbons life?
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA
