I have searched the archives and didn't find what I'm looking for.

When running FTP is there a way to have the "open" command timeout if it
doesn't make a connection with a remote site? I know you can set the
timeout value once you've established a connection but I'm looking to do
this before issuing the 'open' command.

I've got a job that literally will hang and have to be aborted if the open
command doesn't complete.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
