Subscribers to the 3000 NewsWire will already know this
if they have checked the April '98 "Online Extra Update".
But this is such a noteworthy news item that I trust those on
3000-L who have already seen it will bear with me for repeat
of this excerpt. Forwarded with permission from the 3000
NewsWire:

If true, this is a fairly amazing and very encouraging statistic
for the renaissance of the 3000. And while HP may not have
officially confirmed the above number, being the publication
that it is I expect the NewsWire would not have printed it
unless they felt they had a pretty reliable source.

Any chance HP would like to confirm or deny ??...
;-)

Especially given the recent news about "below expectations"
earnings for the most recent quarter for HP as a whole, this
certainly seems like something they would want to include as
a bright spot in the next HP corporate annual report.... Given
previous incarnations of that PR document, confess we're not
exactly holding our breath.... but we live in hope....
