I think I read somewhere recently that native mode KSAM performed much slower
than compatibility mode KSAM, but I am unable to find the reference. Is it
possible that your KSAM files are getting created as KSAMXL? Anyway, maybe
it was just a dream.

We recently upgraded to a 996/500 running MPEX/ix B.50.00 and have the seen
a marked increase in performance except for QTP. Both V 5.09 and V 7.29 run
in slow motion when they use a KSAM file. When using flat files or Image the
performance is outstanding. For example, QTP did a simple read/write on a
KSAM file of 23,000 records and it took 30 minutes. To do the same process
on a Image Data Set it happens in seconds. We recieved a "fix" but it did
not have any effect. Has anyone else experienced this?
