Excuse this somewhat left-field question, but can any of you bilingual
(MPE and HPUX) folks out there give me a quick compare/contrast between
MPE's transaction manager (XM) and HPUX's Journaled (Veritas) File
System? I'm particularly interested in relative reliability, overhead,
and any other information (roll-forward vs roll-back, etc) you might
could provide.

I know there is overhead associated with both. In the MPE case I know
it's worth it :-) But is HPUX JFS just a recent bug-ridden gimmick or
is it relatively robust like XM.

Nobody on hpux-admin seems to want to talk about 3000s :-)
