Denys -

The 100 Base T and the 100 VG anylan are both available for the HP3000 on
Express 3 - you will need new cards in your 3000, PC and where applicable a
new HUB/Router. The NICs and Hubs will do both 100 and 10 in mixed environment.

If you are considering a site with many users you might look at 100vg.com
which will explain the wiring requirements and the 100VG technology. It has
some white papers and suppliers lists - 3com,HP are among the suppliers.

In Summary - you can get more distance with 100VG
                   - you can use CAT3 or CAT5 wiring
                   - supports TCP/IP and Token Ring
                   - The knee of the curve is further out because of the
way it works - you
get more users on the same segment given same
traffic as 100BT
                   - you will need less hubs and routers to get the same
job done.
