Donna,

How about this:
In your session you have variables that are set, but in a batch job none are
set. Take out the >$null and I'm sure that in batch you will see that is
lists no variables followed by "No match found for this variable set.
(CIWARN 8116)" Do the same interactively and you will see variables.
