I was the person who initially sent the post and found it humorous - simply because we have all experienced frustration at consumer electronics but few have the resources (machine gun) to adequately deal with our frustration. 

It certainly wasn't meant as an attack on anyone on the list - 

I am next door neighbors with 2 long term HPers - well, one 20+ year veteran decided to recently quit - and the other still works - but they remember - as all the HP people on this list remember - the old HP when Bill and Dave drove company Tauruses and didn't need Gulfstream jets (and layoffs)

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone here and thank everyone for volunteering their expertise...

I do have a funny HP3000 story - we called our 3rd party CE for a problem (DTS box wasn't working) and true to the old "HP Iron Works" philosophy, the cable was loose to the CPU. 

He told me that for a critical system at Roseville they still rely on an MPE system...
