I'm going to put my co-Chair of SIGMPE and Vice-Chair of the MPE Forum
hats
on here to rant and rave about how this list has been hijacked by a near
continuous stream of drivel that serves absolutely no purpose and which
has
changed no opinions.

For years HP3000-L has been the semi-official listserver for SIGMPE.
Many
experts freely dispense very valuable advice (which they might normally
charge significant fees for) over HP3000-L because of the sense of
community
that has grown up around MPE and the HP3000.

Without checking the details I'd be willing to bet money that Gavin
Scott
falls into the top five of those dispensing such valuable advice for
free
whether measuring quantity or quality.

By frustrating people like Gavin to the point they unsubscribe, you (and
you
know who you are) have removed this valuable source of information and
have
caused injury to those who rely wholly or even partly on advice obtained
from HP3000-L to get them through the rough spots.

I was out of my office most of the day and when I returned there were
almost
150 messages, most of them crap. Take it elsewhere. There are plenty of
other places to vent your "facts" and opinions about what is right or
wrong
in the world ad nauseum. HP3000-L is not the place.
