Hello,

Has anyone ever heard of situations where tape drives that are configured to
AUTOREPLY unexpectedly stop auto-replying, and begin instead requiring
reply's?

Our shop has a couple of DLT8000's which occasionally stop AUTOREPLYing.
This forces us to deal with the hassle of going back into SYSGEN and
reconfiguring them to AUTOREPLY, and then finding the time to take the
system down and reboot.

This leads me to my next question. Has anyone here ever remote-rebooted
their HP3000 by just using a dial-up modem connection? I heard somewhere
that HP has ways of accomplishing this entirely by remote administration,
but is this possible for endusers like me?

Thanks for any feedback,

Eben Yong
