Brian -
Oracle DBAs seem to be in great demand. Dollars are good too.
Lots of jobs for VB .NET programmers, but they pay only slightly more than
flipping burgers at McDonalds.
C++ jobs are out there and pay well, but it's the old problem of how do you
become an "experienced" C++ programmer if you can't get a job as one and all
the jobs require experience. I also find C++ programming extremely
frustrating because it's VERY hard to do it "right".
Assembly language - haven't seen much out there calling for this skill set.
Good luck as you try to acquire some new skills.
Regards.

All:
Been down the "rock star" many years hence. Even if you are the most
talented, the chances of making a living out of it, such as getting signed
up by a record company are slim to none....
Guys like John Bonham, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and so on
were three individuals who got very lucky indeed.
On a more serious note, I would like to ask all of you who read this
posting, what is the viability of this list of classes I am about to embark
on starting up in January --
Oracle
VB Net
C++
Assembly Language
Are they really worth my while or am I just kidding myself on ?
