I personally don’t find disembark ugly.......antonym of embark, works for
me. Maybe this 'bark' is a variant of 'barque' being a boat/ship that one
gets on?
As for deplane, implies an antonym of plane (de- prefix being usually
negative), but to me plane is a a noun (aircraft, carpentry tool, or a
surface in geometry) or a verb in carpentry. So they had to invent emplane
as opposite of deplane.....
Anybody come across people who pronounce ask as axe ?
Do some digging on this and see if you get a surprise...

Chances are pretty good you know less than half of "the words", and that's
ok, nobody's accusing you of sleeping in class unless you don't understand
the difference between its and it's. I suggest buying yourself a good
dictionary, and don't be afraid to open it. Beware of the word "Webster's",
common to nearly every dictionary out there. Get Merriam-Webster; I
recommend their "Collegiate" version.
why not gripe than I made up "pedance"?
why not flog "google", recently 'officially' added to the language as a
verb?
disembark is really ugly, but alas, still a word. why not just debark?
debark is only moderately worse than debite, but roughly equivalent, as
un-leave is about as possible as un-bite.
the wacky world of words. enjoy!
