I just bought a set of manuals that includes a 2 inch thick PCL 5 Printer
Language Tech Ref Manual. HP does not offer the one manual by itself ($$).
I'm not that impressed with it because it does not have escape sequences
that support the HP8xxx LaserJets and accessories (Mailbins, etc). I had to
call HP Customer Care anyway to get what was missing from the manual. The
set of books runs about $100 and can be order via HP Direct (don't have the
PH# off hand).
The manual part # is 5961-0509.

Good luck

There are a couple of lists of PCL escape codes etc online.

See http://www.hp3000links.com and check under "Miscellaneous Links".
