Actually I think many Delphi developers take exception to comparing Delphi
to VB, with some justification, as Object Pascal is much closer to C++ in
terms of power and flexibility. But as Borland was able to put a true Visual
IDE on top of it, as compared to the Visual C++ definition of a Visual IDE,
it tends to get compared to the more limited VB.

Delphi is an excellent tool that I use at home. Unfortunately I cannot
recommend it to replace MS development tools, in an enterprise environment,
due to what I see as a total lack of direction and refusal to face reality
on the part of Inprise management.
