Okay, without singling anyone out, I would like to help English-speaking
members of this list who are challenged by homophones (words that sound
alike but have different meanings).
There - Denotes a place/location: "The server is over there. There it is."
Their - Possessive pronoun, implying belonging to "them": "This is their
server, that one is ours."
They're - Contraction of "they are": "They're rebooting the server."
------
To - A preposition indicating direction or destination: "I am going to the
computer room."
To - Part of the infinitive form of a verb: "It is necessary to reboot this
NT machine."
Too - Also: "I'm rebooting my PC too"
Too - Adverb indicating an excessive degree of something: "This machine is
too unreliable."
Two - A whole number between one and three.
Any questions?
