In fact there is even a small example how COBOL programmers might get
some CGI stuff working without dealing with C or PERL (if they don't
want that)... [ no <plug> here as the article is free ;-) ]

You might also try to get a copy of an article and presentation that
Miguel Cooper from (then) Girsa submitted to the HP World 98 Proceedings
where he describes how he used Apache/iX and Samba/iX to implement an
Intranet across Unix, MPE and PC platforms. Very nice presentation.
