Generally, all one has to do to change the character set is send the escape
sequence:

ESC(<id>X

where <id> is the character set ID
(http://support.sas.com/rnd/base/topics/printerfonts/PCLfont.sas shows some
of the ids).  There are other sequences for characteristics like weight,
stroke, size, etc.

I am assuming that your software is controlling the direction of the print
(right-to-left).
