Wayne,

You might look at a short term rental of Suprtool and use it and STExport to turn your data sets into nice readable formats that can be ftp'd where ever you'd like to store them...they can also easily be loaded into a SQL or other base...

I don't know that this is a <plug> as I'm not associated with Robelle; just really happy with their products.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Reading and Storing MPE files to another format.

We have a HP3000 that we are going to decommission, sadly. I have powers that be that want it turned off sometime next year, although I think it will be longer than that.

Does anyone know of a Service that will read DLT IV tapes or convert them to some other usable format on a Windows platform or HP9000 Integrity server? Most of the data files are Turbo Image database files. I haven't checked with HP, but we have no service contract with them anymore, other than time and materials. Simply put, these are for archival purposes only.

Of course the simple solution is to run the HP3000 N-class, probably for the next 10 years. It never goes down. But that call is not mine to make, they want to unplug it.

Strange question, I know.
